About

Faith, Family, and Fellowship in Nature

Bear Creek Camp is designed to bring people closer to one another and to Jesus Christ. As part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the camp serves as a sanctuary from worldly influences, a place where youth and adults alike can grow spiritually, build gospel-centered relationships, and enjoy wholesome recreation in the heart of God’s creation.

Managed by full-time senior service missionaries, Bear Creek Camp continues to grow and improve each year. Dining pavilions, eating shelters, modern shower houses, and toilets have been added and continue to be built. Tent platforms have been constructed to allow for a positive camping experience on the hilly Southern Indiana terrain.

Our Newest Project:
The Look Unto Christ Walk

The newest project at Bear Creek Camp is the Look Unto Christ Walk, patterned after a Youth Faith Walk created in Heber Valley, Utah. This immersive experience will be available beginning April 2026, and its purpose is to strengthen testimonies of Jesus Christ through a guided, spirit-filled journey.

Participants will walk a 1.3-mile path while listening to music and testimonies from Church leaders through noise-reducing headphones. Along the way, they will encounter scenes—depicted through still images and video—representing moments from the Savior’s life and teachings.

The Look Unto Christ Walk takes place at night, allowing for a peaceful and contemplative experience. Participants move at their own pace, pausing at several reflection areas designed for prayer, meditation, and personal connection.

Sister Emily Belle Freeman, Young Women General President, shared her hope for this experience:

“I hope that every person who has a chance to walk this path will find a deeper love for the words of ancient and modern prophets, will feel a deep strengthening of faith and commitment, and will come to know Jesus Christ better than they did before. He walks with us… Jesus Christ is the strength of youth.”

While the Church has provided generous approval and funding for this project, Bear Creek Camp still relies on community support to provide essential materials and complete the walk successfully. Many volunteers are already contributing labor, but more help is needed to bring this sacred vision to life.
